The original
foxtrot as it came to Europe from America was
a "jerky" dance. It was often played to music
with a fast tempo of 40 or 50 mpm. At the same
time as the foxtrot was evolving, so were
other popular dances such as the Charleston,
the Blackbottom and the Shimmy. It was natural
that these dances would eventually combine to
form the "Quicktime Charleston and Foxtrot"
which was first danced in competion in the
late 1920's. |
